It’s summertime! Swimming and playing in the water are great ways for the whole family to get active. These tips will help you play it safe.
When you go to the beach or pool this summer, keep the focus on fun and safety. Drowning is the leading cause of death from injuries for kids ages 1 to 4. The good news is you can take steps to keep your loved ones safe.
Sign the kids up for swimming lessons.
If you don’t know how to swim, sign yourself up for lessons, too!
Watch all children in the water, even if they know how to swim.
Don’t use floating toys like water wings and noodles in place of life jackets.
If you have a pool, make sure it’s completely fenced off from the yard.
Hint:
If you don’t have kids, go ahead and share this email with someone who does.
