It’s that time of year again! The new school year starts soon. And it’s a good time to make sure your kids are up to date on their shots.

Kids in classroom
Did you know? Shots are important for kids of all ages.

The germs that cause childhood diseases are still around. When children are up to date on their shots, they have the best protection from serious diseases — and they won’t spread those germs to other people. Keep your kids safe by getting their shots!

Shots are also called “vaccinations” or “immunizations.” Whatever you call them, they help keep your kids healthy.

Shots work best when kids get them at certain ages. Talk to a doctor about getting your child’s shots on schedule.

If you have a child age 11 or 12, find out about shots that pre-teens need.

Thanks to health care reform, your child may be able to get shots at no cost to you. Check with your insurance provider.

Tip:

Help spread the word about why shots are important! Forward this email to other parents.
