It’s STD (sexually transmitted disease) Awareness Month — and now is a great time to start a conversation with your partner about getting tested.

Opposite-sex couple and same-sex couple
It's normal to feel nervous when talking about STDs.

But remember, talking with your partner about STD testing can help keep you both safe. Here are a few things you can say:

“Why take a chance when we can know for sure?”

“Many people who have an STD don’t know it.”

“The sooner most STDs are found, the easier they are to treat.”

“Let’s get tested together.”

“We can enjoy sex more if we know it’s safe.”

Tip:

STD testing is a tricky topic for lots of people! Share this email with friends to help them talk with their partners, too.
