If you think a loved one’s relationship is controlling or violent, use these tips to offer support.
Set up a time to talk in a safe, private place.
Remember that your loved one’s partner may have access to his or her phone or computer, so be careful when texting or emailing.
Give specific examples of things you’ve seen that worry you.
Be patient if your loved one isn’t ready to talk. Let him or her know you are available anytime.
